Petit Planet AI Settings

Quick Answer

Petit Planet's beta included AI conversations and activities in the Galactic Bazaar, plus settings for interacting with AI NPCs and allowing interaction text to be used for model training.

Petit Planet's beta included AI conversations and activities in the Galactic Bazaar, plus settings for interacting with AI NPCs and allowing interaction text to be used for model training. The controls below describe the recorded beta interface; the public release on December 4, 2026 may change the menu or wording.

AI interactions are not the same thing as every Neighbor's story or ordinary multiplayer chat. Do not assume all characters use generative AI because some Bazaar activities do.

Nalo remembers earlier conversations

At Cafe Untamed, you type a few lines to Nalo and she responds to what you say. The pre-launch program describes her remembering what you are wearing and where your previous conversation ended; on a later visit she may return to a topic such as the fish you mentioned before. This is more than a fixed greeting or a set of dialogue choices.

That description applies to Nalo's cafe conversation. It does not establish that ordinary Neighbor stories or player-to-player messages use the same system.

The two settings do different jobs

Setting in the betaDecision it controls
Interact with AI NPCsWhether you can use the affected AI character interactions.
Allow text from AI interactions to be used for model trainingWhether to allow the described use of your AI interaction text.

Both controls were enabled by default in the demonstrated beta build. Turning off the training permission is not the same action as turning off AI conversations. If you want to change both, review both controls. The settings describe different choices, so one switch should not be treated as a substitute for the other.

Recorded beta route to the controls

  1. Open the in-game phone.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select the category represented by a waving-person icon.
  4. Find the AI NPC interaction control.
  5. Review the separate control for using AI interaction text in model training.
  6. Choose the state of each setting according to the interaction and data-use choices you want.

If the release interface does not match, use the labels shown in your current build. This route is a beta reference, not a claim that the same icon positions are guaranteed at launch.

Nalo and the effect of disabling interaction

Nalo works at Cafe Untamed. The recorded beta allowed free-form conversation with her. With AI interaction disabled, the demonstration no longer offered the same conversation, but ordering through the cafe menu remained available.

Nalo behind the Cafe Untamed counter with a dialogue bubble

Nalo is one of the beta characters affected by the AI interaction setting.

That distinction matters if you want to use the cafe without conversational AI. Switching off an interaction did not remove the character or location from the game. It changed the available interaction rather than transforming the game into an edition with no AI-related assets.

Do not expect a scripted replacement conversation unless the current build actually provides one. The recorded beta did not demonstrate a full fallback dialogue for Nalo after disabling the setting.

Bazaar activities and ordinary play

The later beta distinguished several kinds of interaction:

ActivityText interaction in the beta
Nalo at Cafe UntamedFree-form conversation responding to what you type
Pitch and ProfitA sales pitch evaluated and scored from the player's words
Story-time activitiesNarratives that respond to words supplied by the player
Fashion interviewQuestions and responses about the player's outfit
Beat BoogieA rhythm minigame, distinct from the text-driven AI activities

Activities using the same character or location need not all have the same input system. Aleo's rhythm game and selling-pitch activity should therefore be checked separately.

The beta demonstration does not settle every edge case after disabling AI. In particular, it did not establish exactly how every pitch activity behaves when interaction is switched off. Follow the current activity's prompt instead of assuming a reward or an alternative mode.

The earlier help chatbot is a different feature

Earlier tests included a general AI helper that answered questions about the game. The later beta used a searchable Life Guide instead of that separate general-purpose chatbot. Open the guide and use its search bar to look up a mechanic; do not assume an older complaint about the help bot describes the later cafe or activity settings.

What the settings do not establish

The toggle labels do not identify the underlying model provider, a specific model name, retention periods, or the full data handling policy. They also do not prove that no other game data is collected. The platform store's privacy disclosures describe broader categories and should not be reduced to the state of one in-game switch.

Likewise, a conversation's wording does not by itself establish an NPC's entire implementation. For practical play, the useful distinction is between the features explicitly presented as AI interaction and the game's other relationships, activities, and player chat.

Using the current build's information

Before entering free-form text, review the setting descriptions in the installed version and the applicable privacy information. If you want AI interaction off, confirm the interaction control itself is off; if your concern is training permission, inspect that separate choice.

The Final Beta has ended. Its recorded controls are a useful reference for the feature, while the release interface determines the exact choices available when you can play again.
