Petit Planet is announced for PC, iOS, and Android on December 4, 2026, with Nintendo Switch 2 planned for 2027. Original Nintendo Switch, PS5, Steam distribution, native macOS, and Steam Deck compatibility are not established by that platform announcement.
Choose a platform using its actual release route and device requirements. A general “across platforms” description does not mean every console, storefront, and operating system is supported.
Platform status at a glance
| Platform or route | Current status | What to use for your decision |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Announced PC launch; Windows named in test documentation. | Current official PC client or store information. |
| iPhone and iPad | App Store listing, expected December 4, 2026. | Your device's current compatibility field. |
| Android | Official Google Play listing and announced December release. | The listing shown for your phone and region. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Announced for 2027. | The later console release details. |
| Original Nintendo Switch | No confirmed version here. | An announcement explicitly naming the original hardware. |
| PS5 | No confirmed version here. | An explicit PlayStation announcement or product page. |
| Native macOS | No confirmed client here. | A macOS compatibility statement or client. |
| Steam | No confirmed app release here. | A correct Steam product listing, rather than a news item. |
| Steam Deck | No verified compatibility here. | Device-specific support or compatibility information. |

The Switch 2 version has a separate 2027 window.
A platform family, an operating system, and a storefront answer different questions. “PC” names a device category, “Windows” identifies an operating-system target, and “Epic Games Store” identifies a distribution route. Do not substitute one field for another when deciding what can run on your device.
Windows PC and the official route
Petit Planet has an Epic Games Store product listing, and the official site's PC route is the starting point for client information. The Final Beta documentation specifically supported Windows PC. Those facts establish a real PC route without requiring a Steam edition.
Cross-platform play is announced for PC, iOS, and Android. That multiplayer commitment does not establish Switch 2 cross-play, cross-save, or shared purchases; those require their own account and platform rules.
A Steam-hosted article can cover the game without distributing it. Likewise, a similarly named game's PC listing does not supply Petit Planet's specifications. Confirm the full title and the HoYoverse or COGNOSPHERE identity before using a listing.
Public release is still ahead as of November 2. A product page can exist before installation or server access becomes available. Check the current action and release instructions instead of assuming the presence of the page means you can already enter the public game.
iPhone and iPad compatibility
The current Apple listing requires iOS 15.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 15.0 or later on iPad. It displays a size of 3.7 GB, an expected release date of December 4, 2026, and COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD. as seller.
The displayed package size is a store figure, not a guarantee of the final installed footprint after data downloads and updates. Compatibility should be checked for your actual device and current listing.
An iPhone or iPad listing does not automatically confirm a Mac client. Apple hardware uses different operating systems, and a supported mobile app is not proof that the developer offers it for installation on macOS.
The language listing includes English and fourteen other languages. Language support helps you choose a usable client, but it does not determine regional availability or specify every voice-over option.
Android and Google Play
The official Android listing names COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD. and uses the package identifier com.HoYoverse.Planet. Use that identity when distinguishing the genuine app from similarly named results.
The listing describes a free download and discloses in-app purchases, including random items. Those disclosures concern the product's purchase model, rather than proving that every optional item is included without payment.
The current material does not establish a final universal Android size or compatibility list. Your phone, account, and store region affect what the store shows you. Check that current device-specific state before treating someone else's installation screen as a guarantee for your own device.
A historical Android beta specification is a useful record of that test. It should not be labeled the final public minimum requirement unless a release notice says so.
Nintendo Switch 2 timing
The Switch 2 version has a 2027 release window. It follows the announced December 2026 PC and mobile launch. The console's exact release day or month is not established here.
Footage accompanying the announcement showed the Switch 2 context, including handheld and docked play. It does not supply measured performance targets or a complete console feature matrix.
Cross-save, cross-play, account linking, shared purchases, and any Nintendo subscription requirement are separate questions. The fact that a port is announced does not determine those details. If starting on PC or mobile and later moving to Switch 2 is your plan, confirm that transfer arrangement before relying on it.
Devices that remain unconfirmed
Original Switch and PS5 are not established by the Switch 2 announcement. A specific supported console does not create support for another generation or manufacturer.
Native macOS support also remains unconfirmed. The Windows test client and current iPhone listing do not provide a verified Mac installation procedure.
Steam Deck compatibility is not established by a Windows release. There is no verified supported handheld setup, Linux client, or performance result here. An external launcher added to a library would still need to work on that particular device and environment.
No final public emulator support is established here. The Final Beta explicitly did not support emulators. Keep that test rule attached to the test rather than presenting an unverified workaround as a supported release route.
Historical test specifications
The Final Beta ended on October 19, 2026. The following recommendations belong to that ended test and are useful for understanding old setup guides, not for declaring final launch minimums.
| Test platform | Historical recommendations |
|---|---|
| Windows PC | Windows 10 or later; Intel i5 11th generation or AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series or better; RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT or better; at least 16 GB RAM; 18 GB available storage. |
| iOS | iOS 14.0 or later; iPhone XS or later excluding iPhone XR; at least 4 GB RAM; 10 GB available storage; iPads with equivalent or better chip performance supported. |
| Android | Android 9.0 or later; Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1000, Kirin 990, or better; at least 6 GB RAM; 12 GB available storage. |
The difference between beta iOS 14.0 and the current store's iOS 15.0 requirement illustrates why the version matters. Do not combine old RAM and storage recommendations with a newer system row and describe the mixture as an official final specification.
A recommendation also differs from a measured performance promise. It does not establish a particular frame rate, graphic preset, heat level, or battery life on every device that roughly matches the hardware family.
Cross-platform data needs its own confirmation
During the Final Beta, selected players received Windows access and an assigned mobile platform where applicable. Using the same HoYoverse Account allowed progress to carry between the permitted PC and mobile device.
That test also bound the first PC and first mobile device used. An account could use up to one of each, and changing devices on the same platform could suspend access. The historical data-transfer arrangement therefore came with specific account and device restrictions.
Those rules do not settle final public cross-save, unrestricted device switching, or a later Switch 2 transfer. A public platform list is useful, but it is not a substitute for account documentation.
If you want to alternate devices, verify that both are supported and then check the release's account and transfer rules. If purchases matter, check their treatment separately. Shared login, shared progression, shared multiplayer, and shared purchases are related concepts with different conditions.
A practical way to choose your device
- Decide whether you want the December PC/mobile release or the later Switch 2 version.
- Start with hardware you already have in one of those announced platform families.
- Open the official platform route and verify the full title and publisher.
- Read the current compatibility and release status for your account and region.
- If switching between devices is important, confirm the release's account rules before making that your plan.
This avoids treating an unconfirmed platform as a promised option. It also keeps the first decision manageable: which confirmed device can you use for the release you actually intend to join.
Store identity and similarly named games
The correct game is Petit Planet from HoYoverse. Its mobile seller or publisher is COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD. The Apple app identifier is 6776621908, and the Google Play package is com.HoYoverse.Planet.
Petit Island is a separate game. Its Nintendo and Steam pages do not establish this game's supported platforms, price, requirements, or release date. Similar art direction or a shared word in the title is not sufficient identification.
When a result seems to resolve an otherwise unconfirmed platform, inspect the title and platform field before following its installation advice. The relevant evidence is a listing for this game on that device, rather than the mere existence of a search result.
What the platform list cannot tell you
Platform availability alone does not specify controller support, offline play, download size, regional rollout, launch-hour timing, or performance. Some historical test information covers a narrower question, but it should remain labeled as such.
The current evidence gives a useful route for PC and mobile preparation and a 2027 window for Switch 2. Use the current store and release notices to fill in the device-specific details that determine whether you can install and play. An old beta invitation is not a replacement for that public-release information.
